The universe is speaking to you.

And it's clearly telling you to check out my show with Derya Hanife Altan at Passerby LA. So walk on over to Highland Park, cause I know how people like to walk in LA, and see The Future Present. It'll be up until Nov. 24th. The Future Present

I also created a new book which Passerby will sell exclusively for the rest of the year. Half of the book holds a selection of images from my visits to intuitive advisors, an ongoing series called: She saw me stuck in too much freedom. OR I know at all times that in four hours I will feel completely different. The other half is an assortment of my drawings and directions to interpret signs from the universe.

SIX x ATE

Last June I organized the first of my SIX x ATE dinner series. After thinking through the idea with Jess Langley, I gathered up a group of six artists and one cuisinier to all respond/lecture/perform about the idea of Sound. The Carnegie International's satellite space graciously hosted the event and a group of about 30 artists, curators, arts administrators, psychologists, djs, and audio engineers came out to enjoy the night. Myself along with David Bernabo, T. Foley, Nina Sarnelle, Becky Slemmons, and tENTATIVELY a cONVENIENCE all performed or spoke about projects that related to sound. Leslie Fleisher curated delicious food selections around the idea.

Check under my collaborations page for more pics and info. This past week, I finally arranged the second dinner at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. Posts will follow soon...

Teary Queeraoke

Just in time for Pittsburgh Pride Week, I'll be hosting Teary Queearaoke next Saturday, June 9th at the Brillobox. From 8-10pm, you can come celebrate the release of my record "Tracks of my Tears," a limited edition conceptual record that holds 40 minutes of my stories about every moment a song has made me cry. YOU are welcome to sing the songs that have made you cry and make an appointment to record your own story with me for the next record.

These DON'T have to be sad songs, mine range from Ace of Base's "Dont Turn Around" to Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance." You never know what might spark a waterfall. Singing is free, records are available for $40 and the crowd's favorite performer for the night will receive an AUTHENTIC vial of Casey's tears.

The very next night, June 10th,  I'll be at Pittsburgh's SOUP N'AT trying to get money to take this karaoke gig on the road!

I see fortune in your future...

This Friday come over to the Shadow Lounge for Assemble's "fun-raiser"  MakerDate, from 6-9 pm. The event will give attendees the chance to bid on “dates” with artists, crafters, or technologists who will work with the winning bidders to make art, a personalized piece of technology, or teach them a creative skill. I'll be offering up a "strategic intuitive life-planning" session. What does this mean and how on earth am I qualified to do this?!? Well, let me tell you...

Remnants from a visit with Pittsburgh's Ruth and Charque Newell.

Over the last couple of years, I've spent a considerable amount of time ruminating/focusing/stressing over what the future will bring and what role I might have in it. In response, I've tried a number of intuitive advisors around the country, researched methods of interpreting signs from the universe, and documented all of it in an ongoing series called "She saw me stuck in too much freedom. or I know at all times that in four hours I will feel completely different."

The universe told me I was on the path to spiritual enlightenment with this Queen of Spades. Thanks Universe!

I've found a number of really talented people, even more questionable types, and learned a number of ways to find guidance on your own. For example, using the radio scanner to answer questions or interpreting playing cards that you stumble upon in the street. I'm a gullible skeptic who is sincerely invested in finding and deciphering messages from the universe.

SO, to answer your question, I'm excited to share all of this on my MakerDate along with a custom guidebook featuring some of my tips for finding guidance and a list of Pittsburgh's best intuitive advisors. Some lucky soul will walk away with ALL of the answers. Ever. It's really a good deal for everyone involved. See you Friday...
