For the In Lieu of Condemnation show in Pittsburgh, I installed several hanging forms which viewers could step underneath and pop inside. The pink pieces accommodate one person at a time. Filled with the remnants of old gowns, one will find satin, small buttons, brocade and small holes to the outside world. The off white pieces encourage two to three people at a time. Created from vintage nightgowns, lace and cotton, they are light and airy. Glimpses of neighbors and small portals to the other pods make it very intimate but isolated experience.
